A new blog. All about the things I make and the process of making. I have many goals I wish to achieve along the way. My photography needs a lot of work. Everything I do has room for improvement. This is where I want to record what I do. What works and what doesn't.
I'm about as consistent as the weather though. As much as I might get in to this today, this week or this month, tomorrow I might forget all about it and disappear for a week or five. Today I may be knitting like a mad thing and next time you see me I'll be sewing up a storm.
I knit, sew, crochet, stitch and most recently I've been learning to spin using a drop spindle. I've been using Tumblr to post photos of finished projects but have decided I want to do more than that. So, let the experiment begin!
I have several knitting projects currently on the go. A basic knitted hoodie for my son. Two pairs of Owlie mitts - one for the oldest step-daughter, another for a friend. A pair of socks. And I'm trying to resist the urge to cast on for the Owls jumper. I need to find something to sew for my sewing group this coming weekend that's not too complicated and time-consuming - I have an idea for that.
Lastly, I'm going to add a photo of the first pair of Owlie mitts I made for the youngest step-daughter. I learnt to add beads using a crochet hook - so interesting. I took some photos a couple of weeks ago when I finished them but they were rubbish. Hopefully the ones I took today are better - and as yet I haven't bothered to learn to edit photos so they look even better. I'll get there I'm sure.
