Pondering a Challenge.

Yes, I am.  I'm not sure of the exact nature of this challenge yet.  I'm not entirely sure I will be able to complete it were I to begin, knowing how reliable my blogging is.  It's potentially a combination of a bunch of things I've been reading and thinking about lately.

The more I knit, the more I read about knitting and knitters, the more I realise I've barely touched the surface.  There is so much more to knitting that being able to turn stitches into fabric.  Going deeper isn't necessary to be a good knitter.  I've spent the last few days reading through three years (so far) of a blog I came across that was mentioned in another blog I read.  Oddly enough, I read the post on my phone, marked it to review, and then actually went back to it.  Odd because I do this on a semi-regular basis on my blog reader and twitter, but rarely go back.  I am ever so glad I did!

Unbeknownst to me, I had purchased a pattern designed by this blog author earlier on this year after having seen it on Ravelry, then a woman was wearing one in a class I took earlier on in the year.  That would be the same woman's blog above I mentioned to begin with.  I began following her blog after the class and realising she was rather knowledgeable about many things, her blog confirmed this to me.

Anyway, enough prattle!  This challenge will be about making for myself and/or buying locally produced clothing and accessories.  Previously I've tended to buy from a large department store chain here.  They're relatively cheap. They're also my employer so I get a discount.  I haven't bought much lately as I'm trying to figure this thing out.  I'm not embarking on something new.  There's plenty of others who have done similar things before.  It is totally new to me.  Anyway, there we have it.  My lazy-arsed challenge for 2012.  There's potential in more ways than one.  But I must leave it there as it's past my bedtime and I'm working a bucketload of hours on the leadup to the madness that is Christmas. Between now and New Year's Day I have two days off - three if you count New Year's Day itself.  I'll be too tired to celebrate any of it by the time it rolls around.
